Master of Science (MS) in Industrial Engineering program is designed to improve the skills of the students in the analysis and design of the manufacturing and/or service organizations. The MS program will expose the students to the theoretical, technological and practical aspects of industrial engineering and operations research. The main research areas are production planning and inventory control, automation in manufacturing, design and analysis of manufacturing system, cost management, operations research, decision analysis, quality management and human factors engineering.
The MS program consists of two options: thesis and non-thesis options.
In both options, each MS student should take, but not in the first semester, IE 590 Graduate Seminar during the MS program period.
In both options, each MS student should register at least any two core courses of the MS program during the study, other than IE 590 Graduate Seminar and IE 591 Special Studies, IE 599 Master’s Thesis, depending on the option.
The program option with thesis requires successful completion of a minimum of 21 credit hours of course work (seven credited courses), IE 590 Graduate Seminar, and a non-credit Master’s Thesis. Each master student in this option should register to IE 591 Special Studies, which is not counted in the required total minimum credit hours towards the MS degree, in each semester starting from the assignment of the master’s thesis.
The non-thesis MS program requires successful completion of a minimum of 30 credit hours of course work (ten credited courses), IE 591 Special Studies, and IE 590 Graduate Seminar.
Applicants must have a BS degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field. Teaching language at Çankaya University is English, thus each applicant has to have fluent in written and spoken English.
